mission statement

DISABLED COMMUNITY

An alternative career option for people with disabilities is to become self-employed.
This has the benefits of the freedom, flexibility, and independence associated with self-employment, as well as autonomy from access-related obstacles such as transportation, fatigue, inaccessible work environments, and the need for personal assistance.

However, people with disabilities who are considering establishing their own business face many barriers that a non-disabled person will not endure and therefore require training programs that are tailored to their particular needs.

IME helps people with disabilities to establish their own business by providing tailored training programmes and mentoring support. Please contact us at info@ime.ie for further information on how we can help members of the Disabled Community to start and grow their own business

CASE STUDY

Mark Pollock
Mark Pollock
Mark is the first blind person to successfully race to the South Pole

"As part of the work of the IME, Tom helped me clarify my business model during a series of one on one mentoring conversations. I don't think Tom found me lacking in ideas , if anything I had too many ideas, but he provoked me to get focused. IME provided me with the support to stop losing focus and get on with making it happen!"
